Let's Welcome Mr. Smith to Kansas City
Smith was able to put up pro bowl worthy numbers in a dink and dunk offense that was literally out shined by the defense until his concussion in 2012.
A backup quarterback on a really good football team has been traded to the Kansas City Chiefs and will now serve as their new starting quarterback. Sound familiar? Sadly, it should, as the Kansas City Chiefs have all but officially traded for now former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Alex Smith. If history proves to repeat itself as it does in so many cases, the Kansas City Chiefs have probably just set themselves back another three or four years.
Alex Smith was the number one overall pick out of the University of Utah in 2005. From 2005 to 2010, Smith was an average quarterback at best while struggling to keep the 49ers relevant until the savior Jim Harbaugh came to town. Under the genius supervision of Harbaugh; who has now essentially made Andrew Luck, Colin Kaepernick, and Alex Smith look elite, Smith was able to put up pro bowl worthy numbers in a dink and dunk offense that was literally out shined by the defense until his concussion in 2012.

So, in one sentence you are saying that a guy is putting pro bowl number with dink and dunk, and in the next one you are calling him a back up? How can someone take you seriously then? Contradicting yourself.
If he is putting around 8 yards per pass attempt with this dink and dunk as you all call it, why should he for the name of god risk it by throwing it deep, where there are more chances of it being intercepted? You throw deep when you have to, but if your passes are accurate and fast, and you give opportunity for your WRs, then why go away from that? It's not something every QB can do, and here people think it's granted that short to medium passes are for all players equally good.
And you are against this, at least that's how it looks to me, because all of the best teams have franchise QBs who they drafted? So you would go that route no matter what, just for the sake of doing it like they did? No matter of the weak prospect class at QB position? You are wondering about third round quality, yet quality in the first round is questioned by all.
Just wanted to share my thoughts, and ask a few questions. All the best.
